What this screen is for

Work with **Trace Lookup** records inside Serialization & Track-and-Trace (list, create, edit, and process according to your role).

How to use — step by step

  1. Open the screen from the module sidebar menu.
  2. Use Search / Filters to find existing records.
  3. Click New or Add to create a record; fill required fields marked with *.
  4. Save as draft if the module supports drafts; otherwise save and continue editing.
  5. Use Edit on a row to update; use Delete only when policy allows and no dependencies exist.
  6. If an approval workflow exists, submit the record and ask an approver to approve/post.
  7. Use related Reports or Dashboard widgets to verify the outcome of your work.

Common buttons & actions

  • New / Add
  • Edit
  • Delete
  • Filter
  • Export
  • Approve/Post (if enabled)

Required permissions

Staff need the stt_trace_lookup feature with: view.

Assign under Setup → Staff → Roles → Permissions. After changing roles, ask the user to log out and log in again.

Field tips from module language strings

  • Record trace events on pick, pack, ship, and receive workflows
  • Create outbound EDI B2B Hub messages when trace events are recorded (requires EDI module)
  • Look up trace information for a serial number linked to your products.
  • Record manufactured / completed events from work orders

Before you start

  • Make sure your role can view this screen (and create/edit if you will change data).
  • Complete module Settings and any required master data first.
  • If this screen depends on other CRM data (customers, items, invoices, staff), create those records first.

What good looks like

After you finish on Trace Lookup, you should see the record in the list with the expected status, and any linked stock/finance/message impact should match what you entered. If something looks wrong, open the record again and check required fields, then retry.

Tips & best practices

  • Use clear codes/names so teammates can search later.
  • Prefer filters (status, date, warehouse, assignee) before exporting large lists.
  • Do not delete posted/historical records unless your process allows it — use cancel, reverse, or adjust instead.
  • When stuck, compare a working sample record field-by-field with the one that fails.

Troubleshooting this screen

  • Blank page / access denied — permission missing or session expired; re-login and check Roles.
  • Cannot save — required field empty, invalid date, or master record not selected.
  • Numbers look wrong — wrong warehouse/period filter, or related document not posted yet.
  • Button missing — your role lacks create/edit/approve/export for this feature.
